In PV pumping system using DC motor, it is obliged to use DC/DC converter to maximize the output power of the PV array. However, in PV pumping system using AC motor e.g. induction motor, it is possible to maximize the output of the PV array without using the DC/DC converter. Therefore, my question is:
Why is the DC/DC converter still in use in PV pumping system based on AC motor?
